Process management, a systematic approach to ensure that effective and efficient business processes are in place, is a method used to align business and manufacturing processes with strategic goals. This volume explores new technology, techniques, advances, and issues in business process management in areas that include civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and petroleum and chemical engineering, with the emphasis on providing eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.

Several chapters emphasize the principles of integrating circular economy into the construction and building businesses, such as in the construction and design of buildings, in waste management of construction waste and, in the use of environmentally friendly substances

Other chapters discuss energy issues such as, the power grid enterprise materials standardization, performance of solar-wind hybrid power plants, eco-friendly retrofitted electric scooter, biocomposites for microwave antenna applications, high-efficiency triple layer perovskite solar cells, state of charge (SOC) estimation of an electric vehicle battery.

The incorporation of smart technologies are explored, such as in chapters on IoT-based energy management system, with IoT-based smart vertical hydroponics system for urban farming, and more.

Industries looking for inspiration for new ideas in effective and eco-friendly process management will find food for thought in this volume.

This volume is a selection of papers from the 9th Brunei International Conference on Engineering and Technology (BICET 2023).
