ABOUT THE BOOK SERIES

Despite significant progress in biomass conversion technologies, researchers face various challenges in optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and scaling up production to meet commercial demands. Key challenges include the development of cost-effective and environmentally sustainable conversion pathways, the valorization of diverse biomass feedstocks, and the integration of biomass conversion systems into existing infrastructures. Further investigations are needed to address issues related to feedstock availability, process scalability, techno-economic feasibility, and environmental impact assessment. Existing solutions include the use of advanced catalysts, process optimization techniques, and biorefinery concepts to improve conversion efficiency and product yields.

The AAP Series on Waste Biomass Valorization aims to explore the transformation of biomass resources into valuable products, addressing the growing need for sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels and non-renewable resources. This series sits at the intersection of environmental science, renewable energy, and sustainable development, highlighting the potential of biomass conversion technologies to mitigate climate change, reduce waste, and foster economic growth. By converting biomass waste streams into biofuels, bioproducts, and bio-based materials, this series seeks to offer innovative solutions to pressing environmental and societal challenges.

The book series endeavors to provide a comprehensive overview of biomass conversion technologies, covering a wide range of topics related to feedstock utilization, conversion processes, product development, and environmental implications. We encourage submissions that address innovative approaches to biomass valorization, including biochemical, thermochemical, and hybrid conversion pathways. Suitable contributions include original research articles, review papers, case studies, and perspectives that advance our understanding of biomass conversion and its role in transitioning towards a bio-based economy.

The books in the series will be committed to focusing on waste-biomass utilization to value-added chemicals and materials and fuels for energy and environmental science, which will attract readers from around the globe. Contributions to this book series will contribute to advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient bioeconomy.
