Innovations and Challenges in Micro Irrigation

About the Series

CALL FOR CHAPTERS ON TOPICS ON: INNOVATIONS AND CHALLENGES IN MICRO IRRIGATION

The editors of forthcoming volumes of the book series Innovations and Challenges in Micro Irrigation are pleased to invite you and members of your working group to submit a chapter for these volumes, to be published by Apple Academic Press, USA [AAP].

Micro irrigation is one of best management practices and can contribute to save our planet from water scarcity. There is no limitation on topics as long as they fall in the regime of micro irrigation. Topics related to drip irrigation are welcome but are not limited to the technologies associated with:

1. Cost–benefit of crop production
2. Fertigation technology
3. Clogging in surface and subsurface drip irrigation systems
4. Design of drip irrigation systems
5. Dimensional analysis and similitude applications
6. Comparison among drip irrigation and other irrigation systems
7. Estimation of crop water needs under drip irrigation
8. Drip irrigation applications and practices in: landscape, urban agriculture, green houses, forestry, agricultural crops, salinity management, etc.
9. Computer simulation and theoretical approaches in drip irrigation
10. Hydraulics of different components of drip irrigation
11. Current status or review of specialized topics in drip irrigation
12. Academia to industry to end user loop in drip irrigation

Proposals related to the economics of drip irrigation systems, demand/market for drip irrigation systems, etc., are also most welcome.

The objective of the volumes under book series Innovations and Challenges in Micro Irrigation is to offer academia/engineers/technologists/users from different disciplines information to gain knowledge on the breadth and depth of this multifaceted field. The field of micro irrigation is interdisciplinary, as it requires knowledge of biologists, physicists, agricultural scientists and engineers. There is urging need to explore/investigate the current shortcomings and challenges of the current Innovations and Challenges in Micro Irrigation. The volumes, in short, will explore and convey the key concepts on innovations and challenges in micro irrigation.

Proposals are welcome related to the above topics, the socio - economic impact, innovative technologies, case studies, educational/industrial experience, classroom and extension aids, success stories etc. We also welcome review chapters. Author(s) interested in this theme may submit a short proposal [Title, authors’ names and contact information, summary, keywords; proposed date of chapter submission] of the chapter by email: . Authors are requested to indicate the proposed date of chapter submission. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED ARTICLES that have been published unless you have reprint permission from the original publisher. We are against plagiarism. OPEN SOURCE articles can be evaluated.

We require an e-copy of full chapter submitted in Word2 010 on a letter size paper with no line numbering, a line spacing of 1.5, Times New Roman 11-point font size, margins top/bottom of 1”, margins left/right of 1.25”, and editable equations with an equation editor in Word 2010. A typical chapter will include the title, author(s) with affiliation/email/mailing address, introduction, literature review if applicable, theoretical approach if applicable, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions, summary, detailed list of keywords, references using numbering system and alphabetical order, any appendix, etc. Also, we prefer a numbering system for citations in the body of a chapter. A specialized chapter may not follow this format.

My team expects to work with you closely. We can assure you the best quality production. AAP takes care of all processes from editing to marketing at no charge to authors/ editors. There is no fee for inclusion of a chapter. All contributing authors will receive pdf copy of the volume that includes their chapter.
