This new book, Preventive and Therapeutic Role of Vitamins as Nutraceuticals, provides informative coverage of recent breakthroughs in vitamins and their ability to prevent diseases and manage health issues.

The book describes the effects of vitamins as nutraceuticals in chronic diseases, such as in treating cancer through antitumor and antioxidant activity, for improving the immunity of patients with HIV and AIDS, for the treatment of tuberculosis, for peptic ulcers, etc. Chapters discuss the use of vitamins in the management of infectious diseases, such as viral infections, microbial infections, and specifically for COVID-19. The functional activity of vitamins in brain health and obesity management is also explored for the management, prevention, and delay of hypertension and related problems, as well as for blood pressure regulation and hypertension. The volume covers each major vitamin with food sources that play a role in neurodegenerative diseases and, in some cases, how they adversely affect human health. The volume also looks at vitamins as nutraceuticals for weight loss and obesity, for blindness and vision issues, for baldness, and for skincare issues.

Preventive and Therapeutic Role of Vitamins as Nutraceuticals is an authoritative and wide-ranging guide for professionals, researchers, and students in food technology, nutrition and fitness, and herbal products and phytochemistry. Consumers of vitamins and nutraceuticals will find this book valuable as well.
