For decades, respiratory illnesses have posed a serious threat to human health. There is a growing belief that nutraceuticals can help with a wide range of respiratory ailments. This new book, Nutraceuticals in Respiratory and Pulmonary Diseases, explores the nutraceuticals that are effective in managing and treating respiratory diseases.

The book introduces the various nutraceuticals for respiratory and pulmonary diseases while also exploring their different applications. It explains nutritional supplements that function as adjuvants for respiratory health and which may be useful targets for developing innovative nutraceutical-active respiratory products. The book also discusses the role of vitamins, minerals, and functional foods in the prevention and treatment of respiratory illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis, airway constriction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), etc.

The book uncovers how different nutraceuticals have targeted various cellular and molecular pathways involved in the pathogenesis of COPD. The role of probiotics and phytochemicals in treating respiratory and pulmonary disorders is also discussed. It also explores the potential role of various herbs and foods in the treatment of lung illnesses through the Ayurvedic practices. The effectiveness of various natural and dietary supplements as well as plant and animal-based nutritional supplements for respiratory health are also considered.

A comprehensive work on nutraceuticals for respiratory and pulmonary diseases, this book will prove both enlightening and useful to academicians as well as scientists, medical researchers and medical practitioners seeking innovative solutions.
