Artificial intelligence in combination with soft computing (the use of approximate calculations to provide imprecise but usable solutions to complex computational problems) has great potential in creating smart personalized healthcare services. AI and soft computing techniques can create the next-generation ultra-digital hospital services, such as advanced robotic surgery, 5G infrastructure networks for remote healthcare assistance and monitoring, and much more. This volume covers background related to AI and also presents diverse state-of-the-art applications in AI and soft computing to achieve intelligent personalized healthcare services.

The chapters are grouped into three areas: Internet of Medical Things and Cloud Technologies in Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence and Techniques in Healthcare Services, and Telemedicine and Personalized Healthcare Services.

The chapters look at a variety of AI and soft computing techniques, applications, and algorithms, such as deep learning, robotics, machine learning, blockchain, emerging cloud, edge computing, Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance consensus, CNN architecture, Splunk, genetic algorithms (GA), DurBhashan, and many more.

The chapters demonstrate the myriad uses of AI and computer techniques in healthcare, such as for enhanced data sharing, remote health monitoring, tele-rehabilitation, connecting rural populations with the healthcare services and facilities, accurately identifying diseases and health issues, automated medical diagnosis, analyzing and recognizing information in surgical videos, ensuring timely communication and transportation during health disasters and emergencies, for optimizing expenditures, processing periods, patient well-being, productivity, and more.

The chapters also emphasize aspects of IoT security, privacy characteristics, various cyber-threat models and attack classification, malware identification for safeguarding healthcare data.

This book has much to offer those interested in the applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, including healthcare professionals, hospital and healthcare network administrators, policymakers, IT researchers, and others.
