Modeling, simulation, and optimization are three critical components of modern design practice that have grown tremendously over the last few decades with the increased use of computer-aided designs in engineering and industry. This book takes a multidisciplinary approach to the trends and challenges of computational modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques and its applications in the field of engineering sciences.

The book focuses purely on computational modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques. It presents practical case studies and illustrations of computational techniques on materials and manufacturing in a diverse selection of applications, such as for drug delivery systems, for refrigeration models, for polymer and aluminum metal matrix composites, for automotive and aircraft applications, and even for talent management strategies on retaining talented employees.

Key features:

  • Presents practical case studies and illustrations on materials and manufacturing, power and energy, heat transfer and thermal sciences, image processing, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering and wastewater technology
  • Provides many applications of models, algorithms, and their fundamentals
  • Discusses the theoretical foundations and analyses of computational modeling, simulation, and optimization techniques
  • Includes detailed and comprehensive descriptions of applied techniques with mathematical modeling and application steps
Computational Optimization, Modeling, and Simulation for Engineering Applications will be of particular interest to researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and academicians and doctoral scholars in the major domains of engineering. Researchers and engineers as well as experienced experts will find it a handy reference.
