Scientific and technological advancements, population growth, and urbanization guided by human greed for money, power, and control have created drastic changes in global climate. Climate change caused by anthropogenic activities has deteriorated environmental conditions, eventually leading to a global crisis.

he book Climate Change and Environmental Degradation: Challenges and Concerns for Sustainable Development consists of about 25 selected chapters that emphasize the practical aspects of anthropogenic environmental degradation and resulting climate changes. Chapters 01 to 03 provide the foundation by discussing the general aspects relating to the anthropogenic degradation of the environment and climate change, as well as the ways climate change contributes towards global warming, thus resulting in a rise in natural disasters. Chapter 04 to Chapter 09 discusses the impacts of the anthropogenic environmental degradation induced climate change on specific aspects like air, water, and soil quality, terrestrial ecosystems, marine and aquatic ecosystems, arctic and permafrost, biodiversity and wildlife, and agriculture and food safety. Chapters 10 to 18 emphasize the challenges and concerns relating to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals in relation to environmental degradation and climate change and discuss the possible ways to overcome such challenges and concerns. Finally, Chapter 19 to Chapter 25 focuses on events like the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria in 2023, the ongoing drought in East Africa in 2023, the Amazon Rainforest Fires in 2022, the Floods and Landslides of Uttarakhand (India) in 2013, and the climate crisis in Pakistan, Somalia and Sudan. This book comprises multidisciplinary analytical and theoretical viewpoints complemented with relevant case-based discussion. The present book is edited considering the diverse needs of readers worldwide.

  • Proposal Acceptance Notification: Within 10 Days of submission.
  • Last Date for Submitting Full Plagiarism Checked Manuscripts: 30th January, 2024.
  • Review Results returned to Authors: Within 15 Days of submission.
  • Final Revised Chapter and Copyright Form Submission: 20th February, 2023.


Note: The plagiarism check may be performed using standard modes like Turnitin or Urkund, etc. The permissible limit of plagiarism is below 10%.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Researchers, Academicians, Doctors, Engineers, and Professionals having experience and expertise in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Geography, Climatology, Agricultural Sciences, Forestry and Wildlife, Veterinary Sciences, Pollution Control Organizations, Environment Protection Agencies are invited to submit on or before 25th December 2023 Chapter Proposals consisting of tentative “Chapter Outline [500 words] (along with Abstract [150 words])” on the topics mentioned above based on their specialization/interest, clearly explaining the objectives and concerns of the proposed chapter.

The authors will be notified within 10-15 days about the status of their proposals. Full chapters are to be submitted by 30th January 2024. The Chapter will be written as a Short and Concise Chapter within 3000-5000 words, including references. Detailed guidelines will be provided after the Proposal and Tentative Outline submission is accepted. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind peer-review basis.

Note:
  1. The number of authors per chapter must not exceed Five.
  2. Every chapter must have “Two Foreign Authors”.


SELECTION PROCEDURE
The Final Version of the Chapter will be reviewed based on a “Double Blind Peer Review” by the “Expert Panel of Reviewers” as decided by the Editorial Team and Publisher.
The final decision regarding the selection of chapters for publication will be made solely by the “Publisher” based on the following:
1. Inclusion of experienced International Authors (minimum two mandatory).
2. The quality of the manuscript’s submitted contents, including chapters with multidisciplinary perspectives and global relevance, is preferred.
3. Adherence to the chapter preparation outlines the editors and publisher provided.
4. The Similarity Index less than 10% is mandatory (as checked by Turnitin/ Urkund). The plagiarism report is to be submitted along with the manuscript. Chapters submitted without a Plagiarism Report will not be released for Review.

Author and Editor of several Medical Science Books (PG-Research category), Srijan Goswami is pursuing Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Department of Biotechnology, University of North Bengal, India under supervision of Dr. Manab Deb Adhikari. He is a Physician of Biochemic System of Medicine and also holds specialization in Medical Biotechnology and Clinical Nutrition. He received his professional training on Community Nutrition and Child Care, Medical Microbiology, Medical Biochemistry, and Diabetes Counselling from reputed medical colleges in Kolkata, India. He is experienced in teaching at diverse range of Paramedical and Lifesciences Departments of reputed colleges and institutions. He is presently associated as Research Coordinator, Biomedical Research and Allied Sciences Division, Voice of Environment, Assam, India. Dr. Goswami, has around 11 years of experience in the field of teaching and research and has published 4 books (+6 in pipeline), and ~40 research papers in the national and international journals. He has independently and successfully guided around ten undergraduate and postgraduate students to complete their research work and publications in the past 3 years. Dr. Goswami has received four Letters of Commendation for Global Community Services and Certificate of Honor for his contribution in the field of Science and Knowledge from the International Journal of Agricultural Research, Sustainability and Food Sufficiency (IJARSFS), International Journal of Advances in Medical Sciences and Biotechnology (IJAMSB), and International Journal of Health, Safety and Environment (IJHSE) in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023. The Current Research in Nutrition and Food Science (Enviro Research Group) and Academia Scholarly Journals have awarded him the Certificate of Excellence as a Reviewer in 2020, 2021, and 2023. He is actively associated as Editorial Review Board of 15 international journals.

Moharana Choudhury

Moharana Choudhury is a researcher and environmentalist from Guwahati, Assam, India. He has completed his education as an M Sc, PGDGIS, PGDEM, and PGCGARD from Gurukul Kangri Deemed to be University, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India; North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong Meghalaya, India; Tezpur University, Assam and National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) Hyderabad, India respectively. Choudhury has worked on various scientific projects in various Government departments and has more than 11 years of research and working experience in the field of environment. He began his career as a research intern at the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in New Delhi, followed by the North Eastern Space Application Center (Department of Space, Government of India/ISRO Unit) as a Junior Research Fellow. Choudhury has authored or edited five (5) books with internationally reputed publications, more than thirty-one (31) articles in national and internationally reputed journals and proceedings, and more than (26) twenty-six book Chapters. He has written many articles and scientific reports in popular magazines. Choudhury is working on various environmental conservation activities in Assam and the country. He has worked on several initiatives to integrate environmentally sustainable projects for iconic heritage places, wetlands, and ecotourism spots in Assam, India, especially for cleanliness waste management and beating single-use plastic pollution-related projects. He contributes to various environmental research, management, social media mass awareness, and research studies. He is also well known in India for his efforts to implement environmental education and safeguard the privileges of environmental degree holders in India.

Ayan Chatterjee
Assistant Professor of Department of Allied Health, School of Health and Medical Sciences of Adamas University, Barasat, West Bengal, India

Dr. Ayan Chatterjee, is currently working as Assistant Professor of Department of Allied Health, School of Health and Medical Sciences of Adamas University, Barasat, West Bengal, India, is having MSc degree in Human Physiology from University of Calcutta with a first class. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Calcutta. He also has a Six-month Diploma in Social Work and Community Service from School of Social Work and Community Service, The National Council of Education, Bengal. He also successfully completed a Certificate course in Science Communication and Media Practice conducted by Indian Science News Association, Kolkata; the course is supported by DST, Government of India, and Vigyan Prasar. He has published 91 full length research papers; among them 41 [in peer reviewed Journals: 22 and in Book Chapter:17 and Conference Proceedings: 02] as first author in Peer Reviewed Journals (International and National), Conference Proceedings and as Book Chapters and also presented papers in International and National Conferences held at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, ISI Kolkata, ISI Giridih, Jadavpur University, University of Calcutta, Vidyasagar University, IISWBM (Kolkata), NIT Jalandhar, Aligarh Muslim University, University of North Bengal, College of Engineering Trivandrum, Brainware University, Diamond Harbour Womens’ University (Through Webinar), University of Gour Banga (Through Webinar). Dr. Ayan also published two (02) Books. Also received Young Scientist Best Oral Presentation award for the presentation of paper at the second international conference on Environmental, Agricultural, Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICEACBS 2021). He also has teaching experience in Human Physiology, Biochemistry and allied subjects at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Diploma level for 10 years. Also supervised sixteen (16) (All are original work) dissertations for Post Graduate students and fifteen (15) (Review Work: 08; Original work: 07) dissertations for Undergraduate students. He also served as Honorary Member- Editorial Board and Reviewer of different International and National peer reviewed Journals. Dr. Ayan appointed as an International Adviser in Research Publication for the organization of 1PHYSED.PH Training and Development Services, Philippines.
