This new volume offers a comprehensive study on advancements in cybercrime investigation and digital forensics, highlighting the most up-to-date tools that help to mitigate cyber-attacks and that extract digital evidence for forensic investigations to recover lost, purposefully deleted, or damaged files.

A. Harisha is Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sahyadry College of Engineering and Management, Karnataka, India. He has published about nine research papers indexed in DBLP, Scopus, and SCI. He has presented his research findings at various international conferences and is an active member of several professional organizations, such as ISTE, ACM, and CSI. He is also a web developer and application team member for Techno-Medicare. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of Project Digital Forensics and Intelligence, funded by the Government of Karnataka, Department of Science and Technology under the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST) scheme. The Indian patent office has published his patent application on Enhanced Detection of Attacks on Network Based on Pattern Recognition with Decision Stump. He also has two international innovation patents: Feed Forward Neural Networks Combined with Extreme Learning Machine Approach for Large Weather Data and An Improved Cyber Security System with Digital Watermarking Using Combined Transformation Approach. He has served as a committee member for several international conferences. Mr. Harisha completed his master’s degree with specialization in Wireless Communication and Computing from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahbad, India, and his bachelor’s degree with specialization in Computer Science and Engineering from Viswesvarayya Technological University Belagavi, Karnataka, India.

Amarnath Mishra, PhD, has been working as Associate Professor (Forensic Science) and Coordinator of Capacity Building Program for CBI Investigating Officers at the School of Forensics, Risk Management & National Security, Rashtriya Raksha University, (An Institution of National Importance) (Pioneering National Security and Police University of India), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, since July 2022. Prior to this, he worked at the Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India; Department of Forensic Science, School of Humanities, Arts & Applied Sciences, Amity University, Dubai Campus, UAE; Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Tribhuvan University; National Medical College, Birgunj; and Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Kathmandu University, College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur, Nepal. He has also been a visiting/guest/adjunct faculty at various institutions. He has over 14 years of experience in research, academics, and administration. Dr. Mishra has published seven books, 20 book chapters, and more than 45 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals and presented around 25 papers in national and international conferences. He has attended more than 55 conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, and refresher courses. He has delivered more than 17 invited talks at various national and international events. He has been granted/awarded four national and international patents. Dr. Mishra has awarded with a PhD degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic and Analytical Toxicology from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (formerly SHIATS, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, MHA, Govt. of India.

Chandra Singh is an Assistant Professor at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Karnataka, India. He has co-authored a textbook titled Survivability Techniques in Optical Network, published by Studuim Press. He has published more 15 papers indexed in Scopus & Web of Science journals. He has received two best paper awards given by the Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, and by Droncharya College of Engineering, Guragoan, India. He twice received Hacckerank Toppers for Python & Advanced CPP held at VIT, Chennai, FDP, India. He was also the topper of a java quiz held at FDP, organized by VIT, Chennai, India. He has received a Certification of Recognition as a SPOC during GUVi’s RPA SKILL-A-THON 2020. He has also served as the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Co-ordinator for Department of Electronics and Communication. He has received other awards for his work as well. Mr. Singh served as a TPC/PC member for several conferences, including ICSC 2019, MRCN 2020, SPTM 2020, and ICCCIS 2021. His areas of interest are optical networking and communication, wireless communication, IoT machine learning, and image processing. He earned his MTech in Digital Electronics & Communication from NMAM Institute of Technology Nitte and his BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Srinivas School of Engineering, Mukka, Mangaluru, India.
