Reviews
“A well-intended effort in putting every aspect of gender studies in the right context. It comprehensively discusses the issues and challenges faced by women folk the world over. Dividing the book as per the major themes is a perfect design of systematizing the issues and then discussing them holistically and giving some solutions. A handsome effort to bring ideas and modes of analysis to the attention of not just readers but the ruling establishments that will enable the achievement of true empowerment of women and helps in igniting fresh thinking towards the policy framing on these weighty subjects.”
—From Foreword by Dr. Nidhi Mishra, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Director–STAR, Department of Finance, Government of Rajasthan, India

The interdisciplinary field of women’s and gender studies was created in response to the urgent need to confront problems that occur in daily life because of the gendered nature of politics, which gives rise to social and economic inequality. The field explores the complex dynamics of gender, power, and social justice. The pervasiveness of gender inequality emphasizes the need for raising public awareness of the negative effects of prejudice based on gender identities. This new book, Thriving Concepts in Women’s and Gender Studies: Ways of Perceiving, encompasses a range of important concepts that contribute to our understanding of gender dynamics, power relations, and the pursuit of social justice. It aims to comprehend gender roles in both historical and modern society, while also look at how larger structural influences, such as nation-building globalization, economic advancements, and the legal system, shape the lives of specific women.

Chapters in the book address violence against women, including those in that happen cyberspace, as well as gender parity in politics and in the financial sector. The book also explores means of breaking barriers and the impact of social protection on gender equality. In addition, the book also studies women’s health and how stress can silently and negatively impact women’s health. The status of women in the workplace, using recent examples and case studies to illustrate the current disparity in the workforce, is also explored. Feminist theory and the progress that women have made in the spheres of leadership and law as well as what still needs to be done in these areas is considered as well.

Encouraging readers to reflect on gender issues, including violence, justice and social protection and the means to attain gender equality and social justice, this relevant volume explores women and gender studies as an intersection between social, political, and economic issues faced by societies. It will provide insightful to faculty and students as well as to behavioral analysts in the fields of women’s education, women’s empowerment, gender parity, and social sciences.
