This comprehensive new book, Recent Advances in Sustainable Aquaculture and Fisheries, delves into the latest developments and innovations in the field of aquaculture and fisheries management. Authored by experts in the field, the book presents a thorough exploration of sustainable practices, technological advancements, and ecological considerations that shape the future of aquatic resource management. The book discusses cutting-edge techniques and methodologies for sustainable aquaculture, including recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), integrated multitrophic aquaculture (IMTA), and biofloc technology. It emphasizes environmentally friendly approaches that minimize resource depletion and pollution.

Readers are introduced to modern fisheries management strategies aimed at ensuring the long-term viability of fish stocks. Topics include stock assessment methods, ecosystem-based management, and the role of marine protected areas (MPAs) in conservation efforts. The book explores advancements in aquafeed formulations, including the use of alternative protein sources, microalgae, and probiotics. Also discussed are sustainable feed practices that play a crucial role in reducing dependency on wild fish stocks and minimizing environmental impacts.

A significant focus of the book is on disease prevention and management in aquaculture systems. The book covers topics such as biosecurity measures, vaccination strategies, and emerging technologies for disease diagnosis and treatment. Recognizing the challenges posed by climate change, the book discusses adaptive strategies for aquaculture and fisheries resilience. It addresses issues such as water quality management, species diversification, and climate-smart aquaculture practices.

Bringing together a wealth of research-based insights, case studies, and practical recommendations for industry professionals, researchers, policymakers, and students, this volume bridges the gap between theory and practice, highlighting successful sustainable aquaculture and fisheries initiatives from around the globe.
