Excipients are important components of drug formulations, playing a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and stability of pharmaceutical products. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for advanced drug delivery systems that can improve the bioavailability, targeting, and sustained release of therapeutics. The development of these systems relies heavily not only on excipients but also on the use of processed excipients, which have been specifically designed and engineered to meet the unique challenges and requirements of advanced drug delivery.

This new volume provides a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-art research on processed excipients and their utilization in fabrication of advanced drug delivery. Beginning with an introduction and overview of processed and co-processed excipients, the volume covers a host of aspects, including novel solid dosage forms, pharmaceutical and biomedical applications, nasal drug delivery, ocular drug delivery, transdermal drug delivery, parenteral medication delivery, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of processed excipients, and much more.

Providing a wealth of information on processed excipients in fabrication of advanced drug delivery with novel approaches for improved regulation and release of active pharmaceuticals, this volume will be helpful for healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical experts, and researchers that are looking for information on the latest advances in characterization of processed excipients.
