As the global demand for clean and sustainable energy intensifies, wind power has emerged as one of the most promising renewable energy solutions. Rapid technological progress, combined with advances in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and smart energy systems, is transforming how wind energy is harnessed, optimized, and integrated into modern power infrastructures. This new book, Next-Generation Wind Energy Technology: Advances, Challenges, and Applications, provides a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape of wind energy technologies and their role in shaping a sustainable energy future.

The book begins by establishing the fundamental principles of wind energy systems, including wind resource assessment, wind data analysis, and conceptual design of horizontal-axis wind turbines. These foundational chapters introduce readers to the critical parameters influencing wind farm planning, turbine design, and energy yield optimization, supported by real-world case studies of existing wind energy technologies.

Building upon these fundamentals, the volume explores emerging technological innovations that are redefining the efficiency and reliability of wind energy systems. Dedicated chapters examine the growing role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in wind power forecasting, performance optimization, and predictive maintenance. Advanced forecasting models, comparative analyses of forecasting systems, and data-driven approaches to wind energy management are presented as key tools for improving operational efficiency and grid stability.

The book also addresses the integration of wind energy into broader energy systems and sustainable applications. Topics include the development of smart and sustainable wind farms, economic and environmental considerations, and the use of wind energy for emerging applications such as desalination and green hydrogen production. These discussions highlight the expanding role of wind power within integrated renewable energy systems and its contribution to global decarbonization efforts.

Bringing together contributions from researchers and engineers across the world, this volume offers a balanced perspective that combines theoretical foundations, technological advances, practical case studies, and future outlooks. Designed for students, researchers, engineers, and professionals working in renewable energy, Next-Generation Wind Energy Technology: Advances, Challenges, and Applications serves as a valuable reference for understanding and advancing modern wind energy technologies in the transition toward a cleaner and more resilient energy landscape.
