Dr. Nandakumar Kalarikkal is the Director of the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology as well as an Associate Professor in the School of Pure and Applied Physics at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. His current research interests include synthesis, characterization, and applications of various nanostructured materials, laser plasma, and phase transitions. He has published more than 80 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and has co-edited seven books. Dr. Kalarikkal obtained his Master’s degree in physics with a specialization in industrial physics and his PhD in Semiconductor Physics from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, India. He was a postdoctoral fellow at NIIST, Trivandrum, and later joined Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India.

Professor Sabu Thomas is the Founder and Director of the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and a professor of polymer science and engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Professor Thomas has received a number of national and international awards, including a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry; Distinguished Professorship from Josef Stefan Institute, Slovenia; an MRSI medal; a CRSI medal; and the Sukumar Maithy award. He is on the list of most productive researchers in India and holds the fifth position. Professor Thomas has published over 600 peer-reviewed research papers, reviews, and book chapters. He has delivered over 300 plenary/inaugural and invited lectures at national/international meetings in over 30 countries. He has established a state-of-the-art laboratory at Mahatma Gandhi University in the area of polymer science and engineering and nanoscience and nanotechnology through external funding from various organizations and institutes, including DST, CSIR, UGC, DBT, DRDO, AICTE, ISRO, TWAS, KSCSTE, BRNS, UGC-DAE, Du Pont, USA, General Cables, USA, Surface Treat Czech Republic, and Apollo Tyres. The h index of Professor Thomas is 75, and his work has been cited more than 23,850 times. He also has four patents to his credit.

Obey Koshy, PhD

Dr. Obey Koshy completed PhD in nanoscience and nanotechnology from the University of Kerala, India, after which he joined the Utah State University, USA, as a visiting scholar. He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow under the UGC-DS Kothari Scheme at the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. His research interests include flexible sensors and photovoltaics among other related topics.
