CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS

Infectious diseases have been a major threat to global healthcare sector presenting several challenges in their management. Modulating immune responses to pathogens remains the backbone of the fight against the infectious agents. Engineered nanoparticles possesses distinct properties that makes them suitable candidate in the field of biomedical research. Engineered nanoparticles have been vastly used for disease diagnostics, therapeutics and prophylaxis. These particles have resolved various biomedical issues regarding timely and improved diagnostic sensitivity, treatment durations and vaccination. Furthermore, nanoparticles have served as immunogens, immunomodulators, adjuvants, targeted immunomodulation, combination and adjunct therapy. Overall, engineered nanoparticles can provide safer and effective therapeutic and prophylactic option for fighting against infectious diseases. Thus, this book would provide a deeper insight into the nanomaterial based recent revolutions for the management of infectious diseases.

The book will cover the full range of role of nanoparticle-based tools for improved and early disease diagnosis for monitoring host immune status and disease outbreak scenarios. It will also provide the glimpse of nanomaterials unique properties for targeted immunotherapeutics, generation of cell mediated immunity and immunological memory, fighting drug resistance issues, improving vaccine delivery and efficacy. It will present an integrated strategy of current cutting-edge advances, its applications, its challenges and future approaches for improved innovations for global healthcare sector.
Overall, the book will be relevant for clinical and basic researchers, scientists, undergraduate and postgraduate students to provide better understanding of nanomaterial-based innovations for immunomodulation and promote interdisciplinary research.

Coverage

The editor would invite the potential contributors to submit their valuable work for the better understanding of the recent advances in the field of nanomedicine for fighting against infectious diseases. Broadly the book will cover a range of topics in infectious diseases, including but not limited to:

1. Engineered nanoparticles (NP) based disease diagnostics, early disease detection, improving sensitivity of existing diagnostic tools, biosensors etc.

2. NP pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and their role as barrier to prevent host invasion.

3. Microrobots, 3D printing, biomimetic NP, nanotoxoids, nanowires and other innovation for improving the nanomedicine research for immunomodulation in infectious diseases.

4. Nanobiotics and microbicides as alternative to fight antibiotic resistance issues and immunoregulation.

5. NP as vaccine stabilizers, adjuvant, delivery agents and immunogens.

6. Immunomodulatory NP- immunostimulatory (innate and adaptive immune stimulatory) ligands for cell and/or tissue specific drug delivery.

7. Different mechanisms of immune activation (specific and non-specific) by NP, artificial antigen presenting cells, whole cell, cell membrane based nanovaccines for immune-potentiation and personalized medicine.

8. Immune potentiating nano-adjuvants, virus mimicry and antigen functionalization towards immune potentiation, adjunctive therapies, combination therapies, gene and/or drug targeted therapies to relieve immunosuppression, activation of cell-mediated and memory responses for long term protection against diseases.
