Reviews
“Deals with an unique subject of the medicinal importance of marine bryozoans and crustaceans . . . with the potential drug compounds of hither-to untouched groups of marine invertebrates. . . Of great use for teachers and students of both marine and pharmaceutical sciences in addition to serving as a manual for drug industries for developing new and novel drugs.”
—From the Foreword by Professor S. Felix, PhD, Former Vice Chancellor, TNJFU, Tamil Nadu; Former Dean, FCRI, Ponneri, Tamil Nadu, India

Although most of the today natural product-derived drugs are mainly of terrestrial origin, marine organisms have been shown to be a huge reservoir of resources for the innovative development of new medical drugs.

This comprehensive new volume deals with the therapeutic potential of marine bryozoans and crustaceans. Prepared by scientists from both the pharmaceutical and marine biology disciplines, the volume covers important aspects such as species diversity, biology and ecology of marine bryozoans and crustaceans, medicinal compounds of marine bryozoans and crustaceans and their bioactivities, and therapeutic compounds derived from marine crustacean processing byproducts and their bioactivities.

This volume will be of great use as a standard text and reference for teachers, students, and researchers of various disciplines such as biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, marine biology, and fisheries science; as a valuable reference for libraries of colleges and universities; and as an inspirational resource for the drug industries involved in the development of new drugs from marine bryozoans and crustaceans.
