Although sustainability goals are beginning to make headway with sustainability initiatives, substantially more progress is needed in order to feed the world’s growing population sustainably. This new book offers a much-needed and clear way forward towards the integration of sustainable development goals in water resource management and agricultural food production. It reviews sustainability goals as a point of convergence across several disciplines, illustrating the need for a transdisciplinary approach to understand common challenges and opportunities in sustainable development goals.

The book looks at new research and technology for the development of sustainability in food sources and food production and sustainable practices in farming and agriculture. Water resource management is also addressed, with innovative and eco-friendly solutions for water management, the reuse of wastewater for new products, water purification using nanomaterials, and more.

Key features:

  • Describes key concepts in sustainable development goals for scientists interested in the environmental impacts of agrifoods
  • Reviews sustainable alternatives to traditional industrial production methods
  • Reports on global sustainable resources for the industrial sectors along with sustainable processes for scientists
  • Presents case studies of sustainability measures
With many case studies, this book will be a valuable resource for scientists and researchers as well as industry professionals and faculty and students in the fields of environmental engineering and chemical engineering who seek to innovate in the area of sustainability.
