—From the Foreword by Prof. Vijayan Immanuel, Vice Chancellor, Presidency University, Bengaluru, India

Industry 5.0 is not merely a continuation of its predecessor, Industry 4.0, but rather a transformative vision that intertwines human-centric innovation with environmental viability. Unlike Industry 4.0, which predominantly focused on automation and digitization, Industry 5.0 emphasizes a synergistic relationship between technology, ecology, and societal well-being. It envisions a future where progress is not measured solely by productivity but by the collaborative incorporation of human intelligence, artificial intelligence, and sustainable practices.

This new book, Industry 5.0: Innovation and Adoption for Sustainability, explores these concepts, offering an in-depth discussion of how Industry 5.0 changes industries and communities while addressing global concerns including resource depletion, social injustice, and climate change. It emphasizes how essential Industry 5.0 is to balancing humanity’s responsibility to the environment with its demand for innovative practices. Through detailed discourse, the book covers a broad range of topics, ranging from corporate social responsibility as a foundation for a better future to the profound impact of blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and Lean Six Sigma methodologies in driving efficiency.

The book’s emphasis on the sociological effects of Industry 5.0 is one of its most distinctive features. Today, we need to address the practices of how communities could be empowered by this worldview, change financial ecosystems, and provide comprehensive setup that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. The chapters cover progressive initiatives like digital entrepreneurship, which makes accessible opportunities while addressing ecological challenges, and sustainable tourism, which reflects shifting traveller preferences toward eco-friendly experiences. The amalgamation of trends in the banking, agricultural, and hospitality sectors illustrates the versatility of Industry 5.0 in driving sustainable development across diverse domains.

Strengthened with case studies, research analyses, and proactive conceptual models, this volume offers a value repository of actionable insights for academics, business leaders, and policymakers. From redefining operational strategies to enhancing decision-making processes, the book indicates how technological enablers can be utilized to create a balanced and durable global economy.

The diverse topics in the book include sustainability and corporate social responsibility, the ecological effects of digital entrepreneurship, a Lean Six Sigma approach toward industry 5.0, finance with focus on sustainability, the integration of artificial intelligence in human resource management, enhanced digital banking services and environmental sustainability, artificial intelligence in the restaurant industry, workplace spirituality and organizational performance, and more.

Examining the social impacts of e-commerce in the contemporary business environment in aspects of sustainability, technology, finance, and socio-economic consequences, and emphasizing the coordination of modernization with environmental management, ethical governance, and human-centric design, this book invites readers to anticipate a future where progress does not come at the expense of global well-being.
