As global tourism continues to expand, it faces mounting challenges—overtourism, environmental degradation, and the erosion of cultural diversity. This new volume, Indigenous Tourism: Empowering a Sustainable Future, responds to these pressures by reimagining tourism as a force for inclusive economic growth, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. It emphasizes the growing importance of local tourism as a pathway to sustainable development, enabling regional communities to connect with their heritage on their own terms while directly benefiting from tourism-driven opportunities.

Bringing together diverse perspectives from scholars and practitioners, this volume explores the critical intersections of tourism, cultural sustainability, and community development. It examines a wide range of themes, including women’s entrepreneurship, community-based tourism, experiential marketing, CSR practices in the hospitality sector, and the legal and ethical dimensions of digital transformation. The chapters reflect both critical reflection and applied frameworks, offering insights into how tourism can be developed in a manner that respects cultural identity while fostering economic resilience.
