This edited book focuses on newly developed functional materials and their applications for electronics and spintronics devices. Electronic devices have become a part of our daily modern life, involving mobile phones, data storage, computers, and satellites, and there is relentless growth in microelectronics. The book covers the topic of oxide materials for electronics devices, new materials, and new properties, especially in newly developed research areas, such as oxide magnetic semiconductors and two-dimensional electron gas.

Chapter 1 introduces the synthesis, crystalline structure, applications and properties of the atomic thin materials, metal dichalcogenide. Chapter 2 describes the synthesis and properties of two-dimensional electron gas in the interface of LaAlO3/SrTiO3. Chapter 3 introduces the multiferroics and magnetoelectric applications in bismuth ferrite. Chapter 4 discusses the resistive switching for the applications of memories. Chapter 5 discusses the applications of ZnO for sensors. Chapter 6 focuses on the introduction of oxide-based diluted magnetic semiconductors and experimental results. Chapter 7 emphasizes on the theoretical study of oxide-based diluted magnetic semiconductors.

This book is primarily for researchers in condensed matter physics and nanodevices and materials as well as those in physics, electronics engineering, and materials science.

Key features:
  • Emphasizes functional materials and devices including two dimensional materials, two-dimensional electron gas, multiferroic materials, memory materials, sensor materials spintronics materials
