The edited volume will cover the dimensions of digitalization in financial inclusion and financial literacy in South Asian countries. Since financial inclusion and financial literacy are one of the significant drives initiated by the government and regulatory bodies as major policy goals for inclusive and sustainable development, understanding the extent of financial exclusion in developing and emerging countries, particularly the South Asian countries is pertinent.

This volume will be a collection of issues on financial inclusion such as what drives financial inclusion in such countries, particularly in the era of digitization; and what steps or initiatives are required to bring the excluded masses under the roof of formal financial system. How digitization has changed the realm of access to and use of finance in developing and emerging countries of the world. And the volume willl also highlight the role of technology in financial inclusion, how use of digital marketing has brought easier access to and use of finance, particularly to the underprivileged sections of the society. The emerging fintech companies trends will also be covered. The volume will also cover the aspects of extent of financial literarcy as taken up by government and regulatory bodies towards bringing more awareness about the financial products, services and accessibility for safety, security and meet the needs at a given course of time. Further, the volume will also highlight the experience of use and access to finance during the pandemic and how to deal with any sort of economic shocks of such kind in future.

In the last part, debates on discussions on how to overcome the issues of financial exclusion, understanding the loopholes, what significant steps be incorporated in the existing policy structures with a view towards inclusive growth and sustainable economic development.

Parag S. Shukla, PhD, has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Business Management of the Faculty of Commerce at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India, since 2009. He has presented and published many research papers in contemporary areas of marketing in national and international journals. He is also an author in a book Retail Shoppers’ Behaviour in Brick and Mortar Stores: A Strategic Marketing Approach, which is published by a reputed publisher. his major research area of interests includes retailing, services marketing, and consumer behavior, to name a few. Dr. Shukla holds a PhD degree in Commerce and Business Management with focus on Strategic Marketing in the area of Retailing.

Sofia Devi Shamurailatpam, PhD, is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Banking and Insurance, Faculty of Commerce, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. She has published several research papers and authored a book Banking Reforms in India: Consolidation, Restructuring and Performance, published by Palgrave Macmillan, UK (2017). Her major research area of interests includes economics of banking, financial economics, agricultural economics, and development economics, specifically studies on contemporary issues of sustainability. Dr. Shamurailatpam has a PhD in Economics with specialization in the area of Banking and Financial Economics

Mohammed Majeed, PhD
Senior Lecturer (PhD), Tamale Technical University, Tamale Ghana; Head Department for Marketing

Mohammed Majeed, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer (PhD) at Tamale Technical University, Tamale Ghana, where he is also the current Head of the Department of Marketing. His current research interest includes branding, hospitality and tourism, and social media in service organizations. Dr. Majeed holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), MPhil, and MBA Marketing, along with a postgraduate diploma, a Higher National Diploma Marketing (HND)in Marketing. He lectures part time at many Ghanaian public universities and a reviewer for many journals in management, hospitality, and marketing. Dr. Majeed has also published in many journals such as the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights (Emerald) as well as journals published by Springer, Palgrave, and Taylor & Francis.

Jonas Yomboi
PhD Student, and Teacher, Senior High School, Navrongo, Ghana

Jonas Yomboi is a PhD student in accounting and is currently a teacher at Senior High School, Navrongo. Ghana. He holds Master of Commerce in Accounting from the University for Development Studies, a Bachelor of Education in Accounting with Mathematics, and a diploma in Ghanaian Sign Language. His research interest includes social media, public sector accounting, finance, and financial reporting. He has also published in journals from Springer and Routledge.
