Environmental Science/Climate Change & Mitigation
Reviews “A brilliant effort toward documenting the biotechniques and technologies that are and can be used to address the problems of pollution in a sustainable manner. These technologies are not only eco-friendly but also cost-effective. The latest research pertaining to biotechnology and bioremediation has been presented in a lucid manner. All the fifteen chapters of the book have dealt with different aspects of handling different types of pollutions, consequences of pollution through pesticides and heavy metals, development of mechanism or strategies to overcome metal exposure, and the role of modem innovative techniques for monitoring the pollution due to heavy metals and pesticides using sensors and biosensors. . . . This book provides an overview of global environmental regulations framed for management of pesticides for global environmental safety, human welfare, and sustainable development. A valuable resource for researchers of biotechnology and allied sciences.” —From the Foreword by Professor Nazeer Ahmed Former Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India This book provides a review of innovative and novel biotechnological techniques that can be implemented to assess, analyze, and mitigate harmful pollutants and wastes that result from agricultural and industrial operations. It helps to meet the much-needed demand for improvement of low-cost technologies that tackle pollution problems scientifically for the safeguard of the environment, focusing on bioremediation solutions that also create useful and renewable forms of energy. AAP support has been truly important throughout the initial and final stages of the book. While the majority of the publishing work is done at the early stages, the final touches that include the last-minute corrections of the authors are extremely crucial to the quality the book tries to convey. The assistance of AAP during the last stages of corrections and communication with the authors was a very positive contributor to my state of mind during those stressful moments. I recommend the publishing experience with AAP to other editors of scientific material.” —Stavros Hatzopoulos, PhD, Hearing Science Laboratory, University Hospital of Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy AAP book title: Nanotechnologies: The Physics of Nanomaterials (2-volume set) “I was very pleased with the interaction and support of the team at Apple Academic Press.
