Gireesh Chand, PhD, is currently Associate Professor-cum Senior Scientist in the Department of Plant Pathology at Bihar Agricultural University, India. He was previously Assistant Professor at N. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad, India. His research specialization is in the study of molecular plant pathology of crop diseases and their management. He has a decade-long career dedicated to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes, research, and extension activities. He is the author or co-author of ten books and manuals on plant pathology and has published numerous research papers, book chapters, and popular articles. He has presented many research papers at national and international seminars and symposia. With research specialization in the study of molecular plant pathology of crop diseases and their management, he has led more than 10 research projects. He was recently elected as Zonal President (EZ)–2018 of the Indian Phytopathological Society, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. He received his PhD degree in plant pathology from C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in Kanpur. India. He has received a number of awards and honors, including the P. R. Verma Award, a PhD Research Fellowship, Best KVK Award, SPPS Fellow Award, ISHA Best Student-Guide Award, Prof. M. J. Narsingham Award, Young Scientist Award, Best Paper Presentation Award, and the Excellence in Teaching Award. He visited Beijing, China, through the International Financial Support Scheme by DST, New Delhi.

Md. Nadeem Akhtar
Scientist (Plant Pathology), Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, India

Md. Nadeem Akhtar is presently working as a Scientist (Plant Pathology) at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, India. He earned his BSc (Agriculture) degree from Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Cooch Behar, W. B., and his master’s degree in Plant Pathology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. Mr. Akhtar also received the prestigious P. R. Verma Award from the Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology for his MSc thesis and an INSPIRE Fellowship from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India during his PhD program. He was a recipient of an Excellence in Extension Scientist Award from the Agricultural Technology Development Society. He has published several research and review papers and 30 popular articles in international and national journals as well as several book chapters. He has also published more than 20 extension bulletins on different aspects of integrated disease management of different crops and mushroom production. He has attended several national and international symposia and has presented his research papers, receiving best paper presentation awards several times. He has delivered many radio & TV talks for the upscaling of farming communities. His research interests are in soil-borne fungal diseases of vegetable crops and their alternative management practices, biological control, and mushroom production technology.

Santosh Kumar, PhD
Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist, Department of Plant Pathology, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, India

Santosh Kumar, PhD, is presently working as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist in the Department of Plant Pathology, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, India. He teaches many undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He received a Young Scientist Award from the Bioved Research Institute of Agriculture and Technology, Allahabad, U.P.; a Best Teacher Award from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour; and a Prof. K.S. Bilgrami best poster presentation commendation award from the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology. He has published many research papers and review articles in international and national journals as well as several book chapters. He has also published several books, a practical manual, and two extension bulletins in mushroom production. He has attended several national and international symposia and has presented his research papers, receiving several best paper presentation awards. His research interests include management of diseases of pulses and rice, mushroom and biocontrol. He earned his PhD degree in Plant Pathology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. Dr. Kumar was awarded with a Senior Research Fellowship from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi; and a Rajiiv Gandhi National Fellowship through the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, during his PhD program.
