The book Digital Twins for Industrial Automation in Industry 5.0: Theory and Applications will present a comprehensive exploration of digital twin technologies as a cornerstone of next-generation industrial systems. The book will examine how virtual replicas of physical assets, processes, and systems are transforming traditional automation into intelligent, adaptive, and human-centric environments. Moving beyond the principles of Industry 4.0, it will highlight the transition toward Industry 5.0, where collaboration between humans and machines, sustainability, and resilience are central themes.

The book will begin by establishing the theoretical foundations of digital twins, including modeling techniques, data acquisition, real-time synchronization, and system integration. It further will discuss enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cloud and edge computing, and cyber-physical systems. These concepts will be presented in a structured manner to help readers understand how digital twins evolve from basic simulation models to fully interactive and predictive systems capable of autonomous decision-making.

A significant focus will be placed on the application of digital twins in industrial automation. Abstract Submission (200 – 300 words) Deadline: October 25th, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: October 30th, 2026
Full Chapter (4,000 – 6,000 words) Submission Due: On or before February 20th, 2027

Submission procedure:

• We invite researchers and practitioners to contribute original chapters to this book.
• Prospective authors are encouraged to submit a one-page chapter proposal or abstract outlining the proposed chapter’s content, objectives, and methodology by October 25th, 2026.
• Please include the chapter title and author details within the proposal.
• Authors will be notified regarding the acceptance of their proposals by October 30th, 2026.
• Accepted authors will be required to submit completed chapters of 15 to 20 pages by February 20th, 2027.
• All submitted chapters will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.
