This volume, Bioresponsive Polymers: Design and Application in Drug Delivery, focuses on recent advancements in bioresponsive polymers and their design, characterization, and applications in varied fields, such as drug delivery and gene delivery. Deepa H. Patel, PhD, MPharm, is Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the Parul Institute of Pharmacy and Research in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Parul University, Vadodara, India. She has written several book chapters and papers published in professional journals. Dr. Patel has received many awards for her research and teaching work as well as several research grants and fellowships. Her experience is in teaching and research along with experience in quality assurance of pharmaceutical products. Her research focuses on developing and translating new drug delivery systems for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, such as cancer, HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, and asthma, as well as particle engineering using various commercially available techniques, such as spray drying, supercritical fluid particle formers, and lyophilizers.
