Wastewater management and treatment are pressing issues that require both cheap and effective solutions for a sustainable world, especially in rural areas. Conventional treatments using traditional materials are very costly and sometimes provide undesirable results. Therefore, it is essential to develop cheaper, still effective, advanced materials for the purpose. This new book, Advances in Water and Wastewater Treatment: Theoretical and Experimental Approach, discusses the various techniques and methodologies for the utilization of advanced materials for water and wastewater treatment.

The volume examines the feasibility of advanced materials in water and wastewater management for sustainable development. These advanced materials can be used to remove various contaminants from water and wastewater for more effective results. The book covers techniques involving adsorption by advanced adsorbents, membrane filtration, advanced oxidation techniques, constructed wetlands, activated sludge process, ion exchange, chemical precipitation, coagulation, and clarification. The preparation and analysis of these advanced materials are also studied to investigate their viability.

The book covers various research, reviews, and experimental studies for elimination of several contaminations using advanced techniques that include sustainable circular economy development, membranes prepared from different materials, adsorption, electrocoagulation, photocatalytic oxidation, nanoparticles, biological methods, etc. Divided into three sections, the book first discusses circular economy development (CED) and membrane treatment, and then goes on to describe adsorption treatment techniques. The third section features other advanced methods related to water and wastewater.

Highlighting advances in water and wastewater treatment through theoretical and experimental approaches, this new book will be of special value to those involved in the field of water and wastewater management.
