In the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare, the fusion of technology with pharmaceutical and medical sciences has heralded a new era of innovation and progress. This new volume, Advancements in Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) Technology for Pharmaceutical and Medical Applications, serves as a beacon illuminating the transformative journey of 3D printing technology in healthcare, sharing ground-breaking research that explores the intricate intersections of FDM technology with pharmaceutical and medical realms.

The book looks at how FDM technology, a 3D printing technique that uses a heated filament to create complex objects layer by layer, is reshaping healthcare delivery from the fabrication of personalized drug delivery systems to the creation of intricate anatomical models for surgical planning. The volume offers an introduction to and the fundamental principles of pharmaceutical FDM and then goes provides in-depth information on materials selection, technological approaches on pharmaceutical 3D printing, how FDM can be used in drug development, the role of FDM in the production and design of medical devices, the regulatory landscape for 3D-printed pharmaceuticals, and more. The volume also presents a selection of case studies that illustrate the vast potential of this state-of-the-art technology.

This volume will serve as a vital resource for academics, industry professionals, and policymakers seeking to stay abreast of the rapid advancements in this dynamic field. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, the authors catalyze further innovations that enhance patient care, improve treatment outcomes, and propel the boundaries of possibility in pharmaceutical and medical applications of FDM technology.
