Faisal Rashid Sofi, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Post-Harvest Technology (Fisheries), Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Rangil, Kashmir, India. His area of research interest is phenolic compounds from natural sources and their efficacy for the preservation of fish and fishery products. His major research contribution is increasing the shelf life of Indian mackrel with the effect of grape seed extract. He has received a best paper award at the International Conference on Profits on Aquaculture. He has published more than 25 research publications in both national and international journals. In addition, he has published 12 chapters. Dr. Sofi graduated from the College of Fisheries, Veraval, Junagadh Agricultural University, Gujarat, and earned a master’s degree from the same university in the Department of Post-Harvest Technology. Later on, he obtained a doctoral degree in Fish Processing Technology from the College of Fisheries, Mangalore, India.

Neeraj Pathak, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Head of Faculty of Fisheries Science at The Neotia University, Sarisa, West Bengal, India, where he is also Head of the Department of Fish Processing Technology and Fisheries Engineering. His areas of interest in the research include fish processing technology, seafood thermal processing, and emerging fish quality and safety. He has published a number of books, manuals, and peer-reviewed research articles with national and international publishers. He received his doctorate in Fish Quality Assurance and Management from Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University in Tamil Nadu, India. He also holds a master’s degree in Fisheries Science in Fish Processing Technology from Junagadh Agriculture University, Gujarat, India.

Kawkabul Saba, PhD, is an Assistant Professor and Scientist in the Division of Fish Nutrition and Biochemistry, Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Rangil, Kashmir, India. Her area of research interest is the development of low-cost feed from slaughterhouse waste. She is a recipient of an INSPIRE fellowship during her doctoral program from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. She has published more than 20 research publications in both national and international journals. In addition, she has published five chapters. She graduated from the College of Fisheries, Veraval, Junagadh Agricultural University Gujarat, and obtained a master’s degree from the same university in the Department of Fisheries Resource Management. She obtained a doctoral degree in Fisheries Resource Management from the Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K.


Tariq Hussain Bhat, PhD

Tariq Hussain Bhat, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Head of the Division of Post- Harvest Technology, Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Rangil, Kashmir, India. His area of research interest is quality evaluation and standardization of fish products. He has published more than 25 research publications in both national and international journals. In addition, he has published five chapters. He has been conferred with a best teacher award by the university. He obtained his doctoral degree in Fish Processing Technology from the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, CIFE, Mumbai, India.

Imtiyaz Qayoom, PhD, works as Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist Head in the Division of Aquatic Environmental Management, Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir, SKUAST-K, India. He is working in the field of aquatic toxicology, fish toxicity testing, environmental monitoring, residue analysis ,and in-vitro toxicity assessment in fish models. He is involved in various teaching, research, extension, and administrative activities of the university, where he has more than five years of experience. Dr. Imtiyaz has been instrumental in conducting various workshops and trainings to researchers, fisher communities, and stakeholders as well as awareness campaigns on lake de-contamination, restoration, and management. In addition to having several externally and university-funded projects, Dr. Imtiyaz has had the privilege to publish research papers and review articles in high-impact factor journals of repute and to guide master’s and PhD scholars for their degrees related to aquatic/fish toxicology.
